The news that Jack McVeigh has extended his current contract allows the Tasmania JackJumpers to keep the nucleus of their championship lineup.
The All-NBL Second Team player and Finals MVP McVeigh will stay with the team through at least the end of NBL27.”It feels like home now, Tasmania.” I’m playing the best basketball of my career here, I’m very settled, and my partner Beth is moving down from Adelaide soon,” he remarked.
“It was a pretty easy decision, in fact it wasn’t even a decision. The coaches, club and I were all on the same page. I’m really excited to have that locked away and to continue to build on our achievements over the next few years.”McVeigh’s strong form was rewarded with a call-up to the Australian Boomers’ squad for the Paris Olympics this week.He averaged 17.3 points and 5.9 rebounds across 37 appearances in NBL24.
The 27-year-old joins Clint Steindl, Fabijan Krslovic, Milton Doyle, Sean Macdonald, Will Magnay, Majok Deng and Walter Brown as one of the most complete locked-in rosters for NBL25.
Anthony Drmic has also been reported to have re-signed, with no official announcement from the club at this stage.
