SAD NEWS: ”He Is Gone” Dion Sanderson Has Been Sentenced Life Imprisonment After Being Accused With DUI….

Dion Sanderson, a defender for Birmingham City, will appear in court the following week after being accused with DUI. After learning of the incident last week, the team decided to bench Sanderson for Saturday’s match against Rotherham United.

After officially joining the Blues from Wolverhampton Wanderers last year, Sanderson was named captain of the team. Experienced goalkeeper John Ruddy took Sanderson’s place, and he will not wear the armband in the team’s last two Championship games.

Since Gary Rowett was named interim manager, Sanderson has started all six of the Blues’ games and maintained his spot in the starting lineup against Rotherham.

West Midlands Police issued the following statement to BirminghamLive: “Dion Sanderson, 24, has been charged with driving while intoxicated and is scheduled to appear before magistrates in Birmingham on April 30.” He’s been released on bond till then.

“West Midlands Police informed the club early last week that Dion Sanderson had been charged in relation to a drink-driving offence,” the club stated in a statement. The same day, Sanderson informed club officials about the event.

“The club decided to take disciplinary action as a result, and the Blues defender will no longer be captain of the Men’s First Team for the duration of the season.”

“Sanderson takes full responsibility for his actions and has expressed regret to his teammates for his egregious error of judgment. The issue has been resolved internally, and at this point, no more remarks will be made.”
