Grealish to be sold by City this summer?
Under Pep Guardiola, the England international’s style of play has undoubtedly evolved, and the fluid football he played at Villa appears to be gone.
With five goals and eleven assists in the team that won the treble the previous season, the 28-year-old has made an impact during his time at The Etihad.
The former Villa player has only made 17 league appearances due to injuries, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
As a result, according to Football Insider, Guardiola isn’t sold on the Englishman, and Grealish will likely be replaced this summer.
Grealish hasn’t done much wrong in his time at Manchester United and has shown to be a useful member of the team, but it’s rumored that City would consider offers for him.
According to Football Insider, the club expects a sizable fee should they decide to sell the winger, and a surprise sale is seen as a “growing possibility.”
Grealish’s current contract expires in three years, so he could command a high price from prospective suitors.
Given Grealish’s lack of impact and Kevin De Bruyne’s injuries, it’s thought City is looking to spend heavily this summer on Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich, who is supposedly seen as an upgrade over what City currently have in those positions.
One of Europe’s greatest talents, Musiala is reportedly worth more than £100 million to Bayern. The 21-year-old, who has 12 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season, would be partially funded by the sale of Grealish.
