Luka Doncic responded, “I don’t know why we did,” when questioned about the Mavericks’ lackluster performance following the game. Doncic expressed uncertainty about whether Leonard’s absence affected his team’s concentration, stating, “Obviously, we prepared as though he was going to play. However, that shouldn’t alter the way we think. They had a “next man up” ethos, which they carried out admirably. We have barely forty-eight minutes to remain attentive. We have to focus for the full 48 minutes because it’s the playoffs. It wasn’t supposed to [impact our attention]. However, I’m not sure.”
