Gonzalo Montiel may depart Nottingham Forest this summer and head back to South America, it appears.
According to Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, Flamengo has a wonderful opportunity to recruit the fullback because his parent club, Sevilla, does not want to keep him.
According to reports, Nottingham Forest will return Montiel to Spain at the end of the current campaign because they have no plans to purchase him from the La Liga team.
Flamengo might even be able to obtain Montiel on loan, according to Nicola, provided they are willing to pay a cost, as Sevilla is eager to find a new option.
The Rio de Janeiro team would have the last say over whether to invest or sell, although the Spanish club would prefer a sale.
Flamengo and Montiel have been connected for some time, thus this is thought to be a huge chance for the team to sign him.
He has made 16 appearances so far while on loan at Nottingham Forest, after playing for just three minutes in their previous 11 Premier League games. Thus, it should come as no surprise that they decided not to retain him.
