The Washington Commanders are apparently planning to take advantage of the chance to select the best quarterback available in the NFL Draft, who is not Caleb Williams.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, teams that have contacted the Commanders to ask about the No. 2 overall pick in the draft have been informed that it is not available. Adam Peters, the general manager of Washington, has made public remarks that are identical to those he has made to rival leaders.
Even while it doesn’t seem like it will happen, anything could still change if the Commanders are extremely impressed with an offer. Naturally, the most important query is which quarterback has motivated them to reject all trade requests.
For Washington, Jayden Daniels looks like the logical choice. Despite recent reports suggesting a lack of mutual interest, the Commanders are reportedly highly impressed with the former LSU standout.
When the New England Patriots are selected at No. 3, assuming Williams selects first overall and Daniels selects second, things might become really interesting in the draft. The Patriots have publicly acknowledged that they are willing to trade back even though they are in dire need of a quarterback. They haven’t yet received an offer that would persuade them to take that action.
