After an under-21s cameo that won the game, Josh Maja, a striker, has been supported to contribute to Albion’s crucial Championship decider against Preston.
In 80 minutes, the unfortunate Baggies forward scored twice and provided an assist for Richard Beale’s under-21 team, who defeated Leeds 4-2 on Monday.
In his first Albion season, Maja has sustained two ankle injuries as a result of shoddy challenges. Since returning to action early in April, he has made two fleeting appearances for Carlos Corberan’s first squad.
With only a few days until Saturday’s Championship final against Preston, in which Albion needs at least a point to secure a play-off spot, Corberan was present at The Hawthorns on Monday night to see Maja’s impressive finishing, combination play, and energy.
