It’s no secret that the coaching staff at Notre Dame football is desperate to sign four-star Florida receiver Jayvan Boggs before 2025. It’s also no secret that the gifted pass-catcher is giving the Fighting Irish serious consideration. The Golden Domers will have competition, though, given the other elite teams who will challenge Boggs.
It seems like Notre Dame has a way to get Boggs to commit, and that way became more evident when he visited the Fighting Irish during their spring practice. Kevin Sinclair, a recruiting analyst, thinks Marcus Freeman and company are currently possibly the front-runners.
Last week, Sinclair was a guest on the LockedOnIrish podcast, where he shared the words of someone close to Boggs. The analyst was informed by the source, among other things, that the receivers’ talks with the coaches went really well.
“Conversations with Mike Denbrock, new receivers coach Mike Brown and Coach Freeman were like noticeably even more than he was expecting,” Sinclair added. “He really, really likes those coaches a lot”
Prior to a series of formal visits that will begin with UCF on May 31, the trip to South Bend was an unofficial tour. After that, on June 7, he will go USC; on June 14, Georgia; and on June 21, Missouri.
But before those other visits start, it’s possible that Boggs may make another trip to South Bend to speak with the Notre Dame football coaches.
“If it does,” Sinclair remarked. If that is the case, I would have to estimate that Notre Dame has an extremely high chance of obtaining him. We’ll observe what transpires there.
