Mike Young, the men’s basketball coach at Virginia Tech, has spent the last few months putting a lot of effort into recruiting. After a disastrous NIT defeat to Ohio State in March, the veteran coach had to go through the transfer system in order to assemble a roster for the 2024–25 campaign.
Young has assembled a team that features some really difficult athletes that will change the team’s appearance from the one they had the previous season. In addition, he hopes to advance in his recruiting of players in the Class of 2025, and he recently received encouraging news on a four-star guard.
Virginia Tech made the cut for Boston-area four-star shooting guard Jaylen Harrell’s Top 6 schools. Alabama, Kansas, Xavier, Rutgers, and Providence also joined them. Here is what Harrell had to say about Virginia Tech earlier this year when he spoke with On3 Sports about each university:
