Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks, one of the Los Angeles Lakers’ rumored trade targets, changed agents, which put a dent in their plans to add a third superstar to LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
“Trae Young’s move from Klutch Sports to CAA potentially lessens the likelihood that he will wind up in Los Angeles,” Jovan Buha of The Athletic stated on “Buha’s Block” on May 10. Does that make it more likely that Dejounte Murray will move to Los Angeles or that he will be the one to go?
On May 7, the three-time All-Star Young wrote on X, “When I say it, I really mean it.” “One More Day, One More Chance.”
It remains unclear how Young’s decision to leave Klutch Sports, whose biggest clients are James and Anthony, will impact his future in Atlanta.
The Hawks, who recently won the lottery, will be favored with the first pick in the NBA Draft this year. This might accelerate Atlanta’s reconstruction, or the Hawks front staff might trade the pick to surround Young with a player who can win immediately.
The Lakers had refrained from holding out their one and only available first-round pick during the last trade deadline in the hopes of improving their chances of acquiring Young or Donovan Mitchell, the five-time All-Star from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
