SO SAD: This Is The End Of Journey ”Corbin Burnes” Has Confirmed To Leave Orioles For…

The Mariners have an opportunity to win a road series against one of the top teams in baseball if they win today’s rubber game against the Baltimore Orioles. After losing the first game by a huge margin, the Mariners prevailed 4-3 in yesterday’s contest. For these Mariners, today’s game might be the most significant of the season thus far.

The Texas Rangers are still 1.5 games behind the Mariners in the division. Look away now, but the Houston Astros might be on their way. The Astros are presently 20-26 going into Sunday, 5 games behind the Mariners. The Mariners must keep winning games in order to finish this difficult road trip.

For the Mariners today, George Kirby gets the start. This will be Kirby’s tenth start of the season (4-3, 3.58 ERA). After pitching seven scoreless innings against the Kansas City Royals, Kirby is coming off one of his best outings of the year. Despite having very respectable career records (1-2, 3.20 ERA) versus the Orioles, the Birds have hit him with a couple of home homers. The Orioles’ current players have blasted five home runs off of Kirby. He’ll be up against one of the finest lineups in baseball today, so he needs to be at his best.

One of the top pitchers in baseball, Corbin Burnes, will get the ball for the Orioles. Burnes (3-2, 2.68 ERA) will be starting for the tenth time in 2024. Burnes was acquired by the Orioles from the Milwaukee Brewers during the previous offseason. In addition to attending three All-Star Games, he has won the Cy Young Award. In his last four starts, Burnes has only been blamed for two of the Orioles’ losses as a club. The Orioles offense only scored four runs in total during those four games. Hopefully, they encounter the same problem when playing George Kirby today.
