Utah Jazz reporter Sarah Todd of Deseret News reports that veteran assistant coach Chad Forcier is joining head coach Mike Budenholzer’s staff of the Phoenix Suns.

Forcier coached in Utah under head coach Will Hardy during the previous season while serving as a member of Budenholzer’s staff with the Milwaukee Bucks from 2019 to 23.

The rumored appointment has 30 years of NBA experience, and he was Gregg Popovich’s assistant with the San Antonio Spurs from 2007 to 2013, working alongside Budenholzer.

From 1992 until 1997, the Washington native worked as a coaching intern for the Seattle SuperSonics under legendary head coach George Karl. The Chicago Bulls defeated the Sonics in the NBA Finals of 1996.

Forcier served as an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons from 2001 to 2003. From 2003 to 2007, he was employed by head coach Rick Carlisle with the Indiana Pacers.

He won NBA titles with the Spurs in 2014 and Bucks in 2021.

Budenholzer replaced Vogel after one season coaching the Suns, which ended in a first-round playoff exit.
