Eight days after NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed they were starting to work on a deal that was anticipated to be finished shortly, the announcement was made. It also occurs only hours after several rumors, including one from James Edwards III of The Athletic, claimed that Troy Weaver was fired as general manager.
According to Woj’s first story, Tom Gores, the owner of the Pistons, hired Langdon with broad authority to alter the team and chart a new direction. According to the announcement made today, Langdon will work under Gores and enlarge the present team by bringing on new creative and seasoned executives, emphasizing strategy, player personnel, and operations.
