For the second consecutive weekend, the Florida Gators welcomed a number of prominent prospects, including Jalen Wiggins, a current defensive line and edge commit. The top 100 prospect, who will be visiting Tallahassee in a few weeks, spoke with Gator Country on Sunday about his recruiting status.
“My dedication remains unwavering; I simply used these three formal visits to assess other schools and determine my current standing,” Wiggins stated.
Stanford and Florida State look to be the two teams that have a shot at flipping the four-star edge rusher as of right now. Wiggins recently took his official visit to Stanford during the last week of May and has a trip to Tallahassee coming up on June 21st.
“I haven’t been to FSU yet and I just had the chance to go to Stanford last week for my first time. I’m really just trying to see what FSU has to offer,” Wiggins said on comparing Florida State and Stanford to Florida. “With me right now, I feel very confident with Florida right now honestly. For Florida State, I’m just not sure what it could take for that to happen.”
“Honestly I’d say, just getting the chance to hang out with the players in general,” Wiggins said on his highlight from this weekend. “I know I’ve been out here and had the chance to talk to them from time to time, but this weekend, just getting the chance outside the facility and everything, just one-on-one time and seeing everything they do in their daily lives. I think that’s been a really good thing.”
