While Texas Tech may not have the same national prominence as it did under Mike Leach and later Kliff Kingsbury, head coach Joey McGuire has given the Red Raiders a stable product. With two bowl victories in the previous two seasons, the squad is 15-11.
The Red Raiders have also done rather well in the recruiting process; in the 2024 cycle, they concluded with the 25th-ranked class in the country.
In terms of 2025, Bryson Jones, a four-star wide receiver from Frisco, Texas, is another significant recruiting victory for Texas Tech.
According to the 247 Sports Composite, Jones is the 58th best wide receiver recruit in the country, but what’s even more impressive for Tech is the battle the Red Raiders faced in order to get Jones’ pledge.
Oklahoma State, Arkansas, SMU, Texas A&M and Pitt were also in the running in this one. In all, Jones boasts over 20 offers.
