According to sources in Denmark, Napoli is about to loan their failure player, Jesper Lindstrom, to Olympique Lyonnais with a €20 million buyout option.
Last summer, the Partenopei paid Eintracht Frankfurt €30 million plus an additional €5 million in add-ons for the 24-year-old, an enormous outlay.
At the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, he was an absolute catastrophe, managing just one assist in 29 competitive games and never fully settling into a position to play.
He played on both wings and was mostly a trequartista, but he struggled to adapt tactically to Serie A’s demands. He had no effect on a squad that was already having trouble in the post-Scudetto era.
A loss for Napoli due to Lindstrom
A agreement has been reached to send Lindstrom on loan to Olympique Lyonnais with the option to buy for €20 million, according to Tipsbladet in Denmark.
This may entail a significant financial loss, but following this season, few clubs were willing to acquire Lindstrom.
The Denmark international had also been connected to Olympique Marseille.
