SO SAD: It Is With Heavy Heart Oilers Announce The Passing Away Of Connor McDavid Who Was Involved In…

Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final took place at Rogers Place on Saturday, June 15, when the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Florida Panthers 8-1 to maintain their hopes of winning the championship. Game 5 of the best-of-seven series will take place at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise on Tuesday, June 18, with Florida now leading 3-1.

In the face of elimination, Edmonton produced a historically impressive offensive display, tying the record for the fourth-most goals ever scored by a club in a Stanley Cup Final.

However, the fact that the Oilers scored eight goals on Saturday was hardly the most impressive aspect of their triumph. It was that they had seven goals from players who weren’t called Connor McDavid, Evan Bouchard, Zach Hyman, Leon Draisaitl, or Evander Kane. In Game 4, the Oilers’ Adam Henrique, Mattias Janmark, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Darnell Nurse, and Ryan McLeod each scored one goal, while Dylan Holloway scored two. McDavid contributed to the resounding win as well.

The Oilers’ Supporting Cast Comes Through
The main complaint leveled against the Oilers for many years was their lack of depth. Despite having the dynamic combo of McDavid and Draisaitl as superstars, they lacked the supporting group needed for a sustained postseason run. Many believed that to be the reason they weren’t making a championship run.
