Before the legendary Miami Heat player ever set foot on an NBA court, Dwyane Wade said that his father Dwyane may have saved his life at one point.
Next, the senior Wade gave a description of how he helped the younger Wade.
The elder Wade explained how he got the younger Wade out of a difficult situation by saying, “But I had a friend that was playing with us that knew all of them, and he was like, ‘Yo, they’re my boys.'” He has a son like that. Please forgive it. Still, that was a risky period of time. It’s possible that we will never see him play in the NBA.
The younger Wade went to Harold L. Richards High School after being born and reared in Chicago.
However, the younger Wade chose to take his skills to Marquette University and play for the Golden Eagles for two seasons rather than play NCAA basketball in the Chicago region. He played with the squad for 65 games altogether throughout the 2001–02 and 2002–03 seasons, averaging 19.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game.
The Heat determined that the younger Wade was deserving of the No. 5 overall choice in the 2003 NBA Draft after he packed the stat sheet at Marquette. The younger Wade was a part of the draft class that is generally regarded as having produced some of the best players in league history, including Chris Bosh, LeBron James, and Carmelo Anthony.
