After defeating Tiverton Park in the East of Exe mixed triples and winning at Chardstock to start the Ladies Triples League, Feniton Bowling Club has had a successful week.

The Eagles, who are ranked first in competition 4, continued their strong start to the season with a 32–32 draw against Madeira B in the over-60s men’s triples competition.

P Lawlor, C Jacob, and R Clarke were the winning rink, 16–13.

Nevertheless, the Hawks were defeated by North Tawton 27–35, resulting in another loss.

The ladies got their Ladies Triples League season off to an affine start by winning at Chardstock.

The winning rink was J Hoffman, L Edwars and V Murdoch.

In fact, Clarence Ladies won both of their games against Portishead.

In the first, Clarence defeated his opponent 71-58 in a Southey Cup match, advancing to the following round by winning three of the four rinks.

In the second match, which took place in the North Somerset Triples League, the Ladies prevailed narrowly, 56-44.

Shirley Searle and Corrine Thomas, skipped by Mary Davison, won the match by fifteen strokes despite being tied after four ends. This was awarded Best Rink.

The ladies defeated Nailsea in the County Over 55s three wood pairs match in their third match of the week, 17-14.

In their match, Lyn Leigh and Christine Hooper overcame an early deficit to tie the score at the fifteenth hole, when a three-and-a-one gave them the victory.

In their NSBA KO Cup match, Clarence’s team was defeated 64–85 by Victoria, with one winning rink and one drawn.

The only rink to record a victory was led by Mick Edlin and included of Jon Loveridge, Derek James, and Ken Marshall.
