ESPN ranked Dickerson as a four-star prospect and among the top 250 players in the country after he graduated from high school.

The native of Omaha, Nebraska began his collegiate career at the University of Oregon prior to attending Utah State. Dickerson spent two seasons as a Ducks player. The defensive back had four tackles in 2021. Dickerson recorded one tackle a year later.

Dickerson recorded six pass breakups, 10 solo tackles, and 17 total tackles in nine games during his first campaign with the Aggies. In 2023, he led Utah State to a 6-7 record, which included a 4-4 mark in Mountain West play.
