American professional golfer Scott Alexander Scheffler was born on June 21, 1996, and now competes on the PGA Tour. Having maintained the top spot in the Official World Golf Ranking for more than ninety weeks, he initially attained the rating in March 2022.
John Catlin already has a lot of experience traveling the world, despite the concept of a world circuit being the future of men’s professional golf.
The Californian, who will make his second start in the LIV Golf League this week in Nashville, has already shown his mettle on the Asian Development Tour, PGA Tour Canada, the Asian Tour, the Gateway Tour, and the DP World Tour. He then seized the chance to join Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC.
And after spending the most of his career traveling to Asia, with stints in Europe and other places in between, Catlin is eager to experience one of the main advantages of LIV Golf: less trips and a greater number of events that don’t require a passport.
Though the 33-year-old 13-time professional winner will only cover for DeChambeau’s quartet while Charles Howell III is sidelined due to injury, that quest is far from certain.
However, in just his second LIV start, Catlin may leave with $4 million in addition to a much improved chance of landing a long-term deal the following season.
Tyrrell Hatton of Legion XIII leads Catlin by three strokes going into Sunday’s final round at LIV Golf Nashville. Both players are vying for their first LIV victory.
Although his primary goal this weekend is obviously to win, the University of New Mexico alum is also considering the bigger picture.
After shooting 65 on Saturday to reach to 10-under for the tournament, Catlin was questioned about how much of this week’s focus is on securing a future with LIV Golf.
He stated: “Again, I don’t really have much influence over it, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t slip in there. I leave that to the captains. The managers will decide that. That is up to how the team is structured.
“If I just keep doing what I’m doing, things are going to work out, and I’m going to keep putting in the work, and I hope I get more opportunities to showcase what I can do. We’ll just have to wait and see.
