Norchad Omier, an undersized center who transferred to Baylor after thinking about declaring for the NBA Draft, is replaced by Kidd. Matthew Cleveland will be replaced at power forward by Johnson. Cleveland is headed back to Miami, where he will resume playing small forward, his more conventional position.
Kidd led the ACC with a 66.8 field goal percentage, averaging 13.2 points and 6.5 rebounds. Kidd started his collegiate career at Clemson, and he has improved his stats every year since. In 2023–24, Kidd enjoyed a breakthrough season. Kidd averaged double figures for the first time in his collegiate career last year.
Center Lynn Kidd and forward Brandon Johnson of Miami basketball were selected by Brad Crawford of 247Sports as “The best pure fits by position in the 2024 college basketball transfer portal” in his post that was released on Monday. Crawford selected ten positions in addition to the conventional guard, forward, and center.
Johnson is a stretch power forward with a three-point shooting ability, while Kidd is listed as a genuine center. With the arrival of Johnson and Kidd, the Miami team of 2024 will have a more conventional starting lineup than it had in the previous two seasons.
