SO SAD: It’s With Heavy Heart We Announce The Passing Away Of Lions ‘Vernon Adams Jr’ After Involving In…

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers already have receivers Dalton Schoen and Keric Wheatfall on their increasing list of injured players.

On Monday, Mike O’Shea, the head coach of Winnipeg, informed media that Schoen will be placed on the six-game injured list. Schoen sustained an injury during Friday night’s 26-24 loss to the B.C. Lions for the Bombers.

Keric, the receiver A blow was also dealt to Wheatfall by B.C. Knee problems were noted as injuries for Wheatfall and Schoen on Winnipeg’s injured report.

While O’Shea refrained from confirming that Wheatfall will join Schoen on the six-game injured list, he did imply that Wheatfall’s return is unlikely.

O’Shea responded, “Yeah, he’ll probably be a little while too.” “I have no idea how long that will take.

“It’s not short.”

The announcement is only the most recent setback for the struggling Bombers (0-3), who now have eight players (including outstanding receiver Kenny Lawler) on the six-game injured list.

This season, Schoen had 14 catches for 159 yards. Against BC, he caught five passes for 54 yards, but he was later observed using crutches.

Schoen’s loss is significant. Schoen earned the CFL’s outstanding rookie award in 2022 after recording 70 receptions for 1,441 yards and 16 touchdowns. In the previous season, he recorded 71 grabs for 1,222 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Wheatfall was active against B.C. but had no catches. The six-foot-two, 192-pound receiver, in his first season with Winnipeg, had three receptions for 111 yards in the Bombers’ 23-19 loss to Ottawa on June 13.

Winnipeg’s 0-3 start to the season is its first since 2012. The Bombers visit the Calgary Stampeders (1-1) on Saturday night.
