Fans of the San Antonio Spurs have a lot to be happy about for the forthcoming season. Even the most casual fan may be wondering about what the new-look Spurs will play like after the team made enough summer moves to pique their interest, even though they are still unlikely to make a postseason push in Victor Wembanyama’s second season with the franchise.
The acquisition of Chris Paul is the main focus of the Spurs’ summer activities. Paul is still a significant improvement over the other players in the Spurs roster, despite some rumors to the contrary. Paul is joining the squad in hopes of winning a title.
Harrison Barnes is another notable acquisition for them. The former Sacramento King is now known as a trustworthy forward,
However, the Spurs still need more pieces if they’re going to pose a threat to the rest of the league. In comes an interesting trade rumor that will make Spurs fans intrigued.
Luke Kennard is one of the candidates Tyler Watts of Air Alamo named in an article he wrote that focused on the top players the Spurs can acquire, with the mid-level exception.
Although Barnes can shoot the three point ball quite well, he clarified that the team still needs a three-point shooter who can threaten from anywhere on the three-point line:
One of the league’s top marksmen is Kennard. He has led the NBA thrice in his career and is a lifetime 43.9 percent 3-point shooter. During the previous season, the 28-year-old attempted more than six times each game and made 45.0% of them. Due to an injury, Kennard was only able to play in 39 games, but he is now healthy and ready to join a contender.
