Born to Pascale Leclerc and HervĂ© Leclerc, the parents,[4] Growing up, Leclerc was the middle kid between younger brother Arthur and older brother Lorenzo. In the 1980s and 1990s, his father competed in Formula 3 racing. Just four days before Leclerc would go on to win the main race at the 2017 Baku Formula 2 event, HervĂ© passed away at the age of 54 following a protracted illness.[5][6] Leclerc deceived his father two days prior to his passing by saying he had accepted a Formula One deal for the 2018 season; in reality, he signed a month later with Sauber.[7] Up until his passing in 2014, Leclerc’s godfather was the late Jules Bianchi, who was great friends with his older brother Lorenzo. Arthur, Leclerc’s younger brother, is a race car driver as well.
In the NASCAR Cup Series, Hamlin has the most victories without a championship. He has been a consistent candidate for the coveted title throughout his career, even though he hasn’t succeeded in capturing it. With the exception of the 2013 season, when he suffered a lower back injury and missed a significant portion of the early going, Hamlin has participated in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs in each of his 17 seasons as a full-time driver (17 seasons as of 2023). His 2006 rookie season saw him finish third in the Chase for the NASCAR Nextel Cup standings, capping one of the most remarkable rookie campaigns in recent NASCAR history.
