NEW YORK When Aaron Judge’s CT scan and X-ray findings came back negative on Tuesday night, the Yankees avoided a potentially disastrous situation.
After being hit by a fastball hurled by Orioles right-hander Albert Suárez at a velocity of 94.1 mph, the superstar’s left hand did not break.
On Wednesday afternoon, Aaron Boone, manager of the Yankees, described the situation as day-to-day. Boone stated that although Judge was “close” to playing on Wednesday, his left hand is still “pretty sore.”
Boone stated, “He was better today; he even went down there and swung a little bit.” “I want him to fight through it, not give in to temptation or develop a bad habit or anything.” Let’s hope for more progress today, and we’ll check in again tomorrow.
Naturally, Boone was relieved to learn of Judge’s test results on Tuesday evening.
“I’ve been there before where you get an X-ray, it doesn’t show anything and then the CT scan usually does,” Boone said. “So the fact that we got both of those back negative was obviously really good news. That said, he was obviously pretty sore.”
