SO SAD: It’s With Heavy Heart We Announce The Passing Away Of Los Angeles Sparks Star After…

“I won’t let this life get in the way of my love for basketball; it’s not what defines me, but I do love it, and I’ll work hard every day to get back into it,” Brink said. It’s just see you later, basketball; it’s not goodbye. I’m constantly very appreciative of your prayers and thoughts. 💜💛 #delayednotdenied

The number-two pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft stated on Instagram on Wednesday, June 19, “You never think it will happen to you.” And occasionally it does, even with all the effort. Though it’s difficult to understand, I know that this will only strengthen me.

After suffering a severe injury that is likely going to end her rookie season and prevent her from competing in the Olympics, WNBA standout Cameron Brink is speaking out.

The 22-year-old Los Angeles Sparks forward seemed to stumble while making contact with Connecticut Sun forward Brionna Jones, resulting in a torn ACL during the game on Tuesday, June 18. After the play, Brink’s teammates helped her off the field and brought her to her locker room.

Angel Reese, another rookie, was one of the people who left well wishes in the comments.

“Barbie doll, I love you!” Other WNBA players, such as Breanna Stewart, A’ja Wilson, and Sabrina Ionescu, encouraged Reese, 22, as she wrote.

When Cameron Brink finds out she made the American 3×3 basketball team, she breaks down in tears.
Prior to the Washington Mystics game on Wednesday, Caitlin Clark discussed what she described as a “devastating injury.”

Clark, 22, remarked, “I know she’s the kind of person that will be able to get through it and come through it stronger.”

The Stanford alumna was informed earlier this month that she had qualified for the Olympics in Paris in the 3×3 division, joining Hailey Van Lith and Cierra Burdick of TCU.

“It felt very strange; I had not anticipated this at all, but I’ve worked very hard for it. I’m extremely grateful because I adore the coaches, the committee, and everything else,” Brink remarked at the time. “I’m most thrilled about the opportunity to represent my country at the Olympics; winning a gold medal, especially with this team, has always been a dream of mine. You know, I really can’t even begin to explain it. It’s crazy.”
