Texas sophomore Reese Atwood has been named the Big 12 Conference, D1Softball, and NFCA’s Player of the Week, all three organizations announced Tuesday morning, following a historic, record-breaking three-game series at Texas Tech over the weekend.

Atwood led the Big 12 in batting average (.700), hits (7), hits per game (2.33), home runs (4), runs batted in (13), total bases (19), slugging percentage (1.900), and fielding percentage (1.000). Her contributions were crucial to the top-ranked Texas Longhorns’ first regular season conference championship since the 2010 campaign. Her 13 RBI over the course of the weekend more than doubled the next closest non-UT student-athlete, and her four home runs were twice as many as the next closest Big 12 player.
