Portal player Lair Beautae has committed to play softball for Ole Miss. Beautae, who started 53 games for Houston in the 2024 season, is moving to Ole Miss.
Following the 2023 season, Beautae switched to Houston from her original signing with the Tennessee Lady Vols. She drove in 29 runs and hit four home runs while starting 35 games for the Lady Vols that season. Beautae started 53 games as a freshman in 2022 at Tennessee, finishing fourth in the team in terms of average (.293), runs (31), hits (44), doubles (9) and RBIs (33).
Beautae is a native of Riverside, Calif., and a product of John W. North High School.
Her time with the Rebels is anticipated to be limited to one season.
Beautae was ranked by Extra Inning Softball as the No. 16 infielder and No. 19 overall prospect for the Class of 2021 in high school. On Softball America’s Top 100 list of 2021 prospects, she was ranked No. 55 overall.
Caleb Cunningham, a five-star wide receiver, confirms to Inside the Rebels that he still intends to attend Juice Fest at the Ole Miss campus at the end of July. At the end of the month, he also intends to visit Auburn and Alabama.
Cunningham was caught by Inside the Rebels on Tuesday afternoon. He informed us that, at the moment, Ole Miss and Florida are in second and third place, respectively, behind Alabama and Auburn as his top two programs. Though he didn’t rule out Mississippi State entirely, it seems like the writing is on the wall for the Bulldogs.
In the 2024 cycle, about one-third of the top 60 players attended an SEC school. Basketball has become a true priority in this football-obsessed conference, and the infusion of cash has allowed many SEC clubs to dominate the offseason.
Chris Beard and Ole Miss have one of the best rosters going into 2024–25. Mike White of Georgia would say the same thing. Although Nate Oats led Alabama to the Final Four and was the No. 1 seed the year before, some people think this year’s team is stronger and deeper than all of them. John Calipari of Arkansas, Mark Pope of Kentucky, and Mark Byington of Vanderbilt were among the new coaches who were forced to rely largely on the portal for support. They all appear poised as they land many pieces.
Among the top 100 players who opted to participate in the game and receive payment for their likeness are three players from Ole Miss. Every participant who choose to participate in the game is scored based on characteristics that aim to reflect their real-life self as much as possible. These characteristics include strength, speed, acceleration, alertness, and leap ability. It is anticipated that every member of Ole Miss’s 2024 roster has chosen to participate in the game.
Transferring defensive tackles at number one Walter Nolen is the best SEC defensive tackle to be featured in the game, ranked No. 26 overall and second only to Mason Graham of Michigan as a defensive tackle. An evaluation of 93 was given to Nolen overall. One of Nolen’s additional qualities is her speed rating.
