CONGRATULATION ON ; SHA CARRI Sha’Carri Richardson’s Birthday Announcement

Sha’Carri Richardson’s Birthday Announcement

Hello, everyone!

Today, as I reflect on another year of my life, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude. It’s my birthday, and as I stand here, I’m reminded of how far I’ve come—not just as an athlete, but as a woman, a daughter, and a person who has fought through countless challenges to get to where I am today.

I think a lot of times people see the successes, the celebrations, and the moments in the spotlight, but what you don’t always see are the struggles, the doubts, and the obstacles that come with them. Birthdays are special because they give me the chance to reflect on everything—the wins, the losses, the highs, and the lows—and see just how much I’ve grown from them all.

This year has been a reminder that nothing worth having comes easy. Over the past 12 months, I’ve faced adversity. But with every obstacle, I’ve also learned. I’ve grown stronger mentally, physically, and emotionally. And more importantly, I’ve learned to embrace who I am and never apologize for being unapologetically me.

For those who have followed my journey, you know it hasn’t always been a smooth ride. From my beginnings in Texas to becoming a professional sprinter and competing on the world stage, every step has been a part of this story. But the story isn’t just about the gold medals or the times I’ve clocked on the track. It’s about perseverance. It’s about standing tall when everything around you is trying to push you down. It’s about pushing through the hardest moments with your head held high and trusting that if you keep working hard, the wins will come.

This past year has had its fair share of highs. My performances in the major races have been monumental for me. I’ve been able to set personal records, break barriers, and show the world just what I’m capable of. But it wasn’t just about the victories; it was about the journey. And that journey hasn’t been perfect—because life never is—but I’ve learned that it’s the imperfections that help shape us and prepare us for what’s next.

One of the most important things I’ve learned this year is the value of patience. I’m always ready to go full speed ahead, to run hard and break through the tape, but I’ve realized that sometimes you have to trust the process. Growth takes time. Success takes time. And we all move at our own pace. So, while I push myself to be the best, I also remind myself to trust the timing of my journey and be grateful for each step forward, no matter how small it may seem.

This year, I’ve also been more intentional about the people I surround myself with. I’m blessed to have a team of coaches, family, and friends who support me through every challenge. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who’ve believed in me, lifted me up, and encouraged me when I felt like giving up. You all know who you are—thank you for being my rock. Your love and belief in me fuel my fire to keep striving for greatness.

To my family, thank you for always being there. Your unconditional love and support have been the foundation of my success. You’ve taught me what resilience looks like, and you’ve shown me what it means to never back down, no matter how tough life gets.

To my fans, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support is everything. Whether you’ve been there from the start or just recently joined the journey, your encouragement has lifted me up on the darkest days. I read your messages, I see your posts, and I feel your energy. You all are my motivation, and I do this not only for myself but for you. You’ve given me a sense of purpose that transcends the sport. I’m proud to be your inspiration, and I promise I won’t stop working to make you proud.

I also want to acknowledge that this year, I’ve worked hard to elevate my mindset. Being an athlete isn’t just about physical performance; it’s about mental fortitude. The power of belief, self-love, and confidence can be just as important as the hours spent training. I’ve made it a priority to take care of my mental health, to recognize when I need to take a step back, and to remind myself of my worth—regardless of the results on the track.

So, as I reflect on all that I’ve experienced over the past year, I can’t help but look ahead to the future with excitement. There’s so much more to accomplish, and I’m just getting started. I have big dreams—dreams of Olympic gold, world titles, and continued growth as an athlete and as a person. But more than that, I want to continue to inspire others, especially the young girls who look up to me and see a little bit of themselves in me. You are strong, you are capable, and you can achieve whatever you set your mind to.

This year, I’m focusing on even more personal growth, both on and off the track. I want to continue to be the best version of myself, to push through every challenge, and to embrace every opportunity that comes my way. My journey in this sport is far from over. The future holds endless possibilities, and I’m ready for whatever it has in store.

To those who’ve supported me—thank you. To those who’ve doubted me—thank you too, because you’ve given me the fuel to keep proving you wrong. And to myself—thank you for never giving up, for always pushing through, and for always showing up, even when the odds seemed against me.

In the coming year, I will continue to work hard, keep my focus, and give everything I’ve got on the track. But just as importantly, I’ll keep being the Sha’Carri you know and love. I’ll keep fighting for my place in this world, not just as a sprinter, but as a woman who is unapologetically herself. I’ll keep representing those who feel like they don’t have a voice, and I’ll continue to break down the barriers that try to hold us back.

Thank you again, to everyone who’s been a part of this journey. Here’s to another year of pushing boundaries, staying true to myself, and never stopping. Let’s make this one unforgettable.

With love and gratitude,
Sha’Carri Richardson
