SAD NEWS|’ FOR VILLA: After Signing A five Year Deal And Reaching The Top 4 |” Unai Emery Has Left With Mutual Consent…

By the time Sunday’s North London Derby against Arsenal begins, Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham may appear to be far from a top-four finish. Prior to the last push, the Lilywhites are now six points behind Aston Villa in the Premier League standings, but they do, crucially, still have two games remaining.

But, with Chelsea on the road and Premier League champion Man City in the schedule for the following three weeks, these are not the easiest of matches. Tottenham has a terrible record of winning at Stamford Bridge, so there are no assurances that things will go their way in SW6 for once, even though the Blues have had a terrible season and their fortunes have continued to fluctuate under Mauricio Pochettino.

The teams will play at home against Man City on Tuesday, May 14, in the last week of the season. The match will take place in north London. Speaking of bad records, Man City has not had a good time visiting Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In their six trips there, they have only won once and scored one goal.

With the Premier League title potentially on the line for the visitors, things might be a little different this time. One thing is for sure: if Tottenham wants to finish ahead of Aston Villa in the final league rankings, they will need to perform well in their remaining games and ideally win them all.

The fact that Aston Villa plays before Tottenham this weekend could work in Unai Emery’s favor and offer them a significant lead in the race for the top four. The Midlands club will play their home match against Chelsea at Villa Park on Saturday night at 8 p.m.

Because of their strong home record this season and the fact that the Blues enter the match fresh off a 5-0 thrashing at Arsenal, Villa will be the overwhelming favorites to win that match. Without their star player Cole Palmer for the midweek match at the Emirates Stadium, Chelsea might be a completely different proposition at Villa with their leading scorer potentially returning to the team. Tottenham will do that.
