Marcus Mariota was once thought to be the next great thing in the NFL because he appeared to be a gifted dual-threat quarterback with the potential to be a huge star in the league.
Sadly, Mariota never lived up to his full potential in the NFL as he battled to establish himself with the Tennessee Titans. Since then, he has been up and down the league, spending brief spells with the Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, and Las Vegas Raiders.
After being Jalen Hurts’ backup during the 2023 NFL season in Philadelphia, Mariota is once again on the move as he agreed to sign with the Washington Commanders to presumably be the Week 1 starter ahead of whatever rookie quarterback the team chooses to bring in through the 2024 NFL Draft.
Along with potentially getting another shot to be a starter in the NFL, Mariota will be the first quarterback in league history to wear No. 0 next season, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
