Of course, he is no stranger to the latter. In addition to becoming the all-time top goalscorer for Tottenham and England, Kane has hinted that he may break Alan Shearer’s record by playing in the Premier League again in the future.
He reached yet another significant milestone on Tuesday night. Overcoming Steven Gerrard and David Beckham, Kane became the Englishman with the most direct goal involvements in a single Champions League campaign by scoring a penalty against Real Madrid and disregarding Jude Bellingham’s attempts to dissuade him.
This accomplishment was only the most recent in a long string of records the center-forward has broken recently; as the season draws to an end, he’ll be aiming for one or two more. It has been difficult to keep track of all of this history-making, so GOAL has compiled a list of all the significant events that Kane has accomplished during this really remarkable campaign.
Kane developed a reputation at Tottenham as a bit of a sluggish starter because he frequently failed to score in August. Luckily for Bayern, he showed no signs of a summertime hangover in his early Bavarian career.
Kane scored four goals in his first four Bundesliga games before going on a rampaging rampage in a 7-0 victory over Vfl Bochum, where he finished with a wonderful hat-trick to bring his total up to seven. With Mario Mandzukic, Miroslav Klose, and the late great Gerd Muller only managing one goal each game in their first five league games, that was a record start for a Bayern player.
