The Silkmen won 3-1 thanks to goals from Dan Sweeney, Alex Curran, and Neil Kengni. The victory also marked the team’s second consecutive promotion as they were named the 2021–2022 North-West Counties Premier Division champions.
Neil Dann’s team went on an incredible 22-game unbeaten streak in the Northern Premier League. They won 28 of their 38 league games, amassing 90 points, and Macclesfield won the championship by an amazing 14 points.
In front of a sellout crowd of 4,701 at the Leasing.com stadium, the Silkmen won the Northern Premier League – West Division trophy after finishing their home schedule for the season with a draw against Prescot Cables.
After adding additional trophies to the collection, Macclesfield will compete in the Premier Division of the Northern Premier League. They will make their way back to the Leasing.com stadium on July 3rd for a preseason friendly against The New Saints FC.
