SO SAD: This Is The End Of Journey Mariners ‘Cole Young’ Confirm To Leave For…

NEW YORK (AP) — Clarke Schmidt believed he tipped his pitch to Dylan Moore, who gave the Seattle Mariners a two-run home run in the third inning of their 6-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Tuesday night. Hooray for Moore and the Mariners! Josh Rojas doubled with one out to become the team’s first runner, and Schmidt said following the game that Rojas had communicated his intention to throw a full-count cutter.

“I was able to get the head out and hit it hard,” said Moore, who added an opposite-field solo homer to right in the ninth against Nick Burdi.

Schmidt said Rojas “was definitely, probably relaying some signs there at second and obviously it paid off for them. They got two runs on it. But I was able to make adjustments after we saw the video and just part of the game. Another factor in it.”

Mike Salk, host of Brock and Salk on Wednesday, questioned Seattle Sports’ Shannon Drayer, a Mariners insider who has been covering the series at Yankee Stadium, on the possibility that the Mariners are relaying tipped pitches.

“That’s quite feasible,” Drayer answered. They seem to be fairly astute at that, in my opinion. Although I haven’t heard anything about it, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Following Drayer’s answer, Salk proceeded to make light of the Yankees and their supporters.

It’s the only way a Mariner hitting a home run against the Yankees could have happened. Salk remarked cynically, “He must have had some assistance. “There is no other explanation for this, as Schmidt is a Yankee donning those pinstripes after all.”
